Using keys such as volume up and down on the Sony AV Amplifier profile (which sends repetitive IR commands) would also allow the capability in the plugin to ramp devices such as dimming lights. This was then added to all my activities which allowed allocation to unused Harmony Normal/Home Automation buttons and activity macros. I selected a Sony AV Amplifier as my new device (as it has lots of buttons) and renamed it ‘Homeseer Control’. Therefore (for example) programming the FLIRC to send ALT+SHIFT+1 when pressing keypad '1' from this new device would be picked up by my plugin and trigger Homeseer events etc. I would then program up the FLIRC to send these keyboard shortcuts via the Harmony using IR codes by adding a new device to the Harmony profile. My design was to continually monitor my Media PC for certain key combinations (shortcuts) using a new remote Homeseer plugin. Plugging this into my Media PC, one of the FLIRC profiles is to emulate a full Windows Keyboard. Having thought about this, I came up with an idea of using a FLIRC USB Dongle (Available from Amazon USA & Amazon UK) which allows control of any Media Centre or PC with any IR remote. This was limiting and wanted the option to be able to progressive dim/brighten lights from the remote and be able to trigger different Homeseer events etc depending on the device/activity being used.ĮDIT: If you already have a Windows PC which is connected as a Harmony device on your hub, a FLIRC is NOT required, however you will be limited to the number of Homeseer triggers that can be achieved. (period) key, or a Backspace key.Having purchased a Harmony Elite & hub on Amazon Black Friday deals, I was disappointed to find out that it was not easy to control Homeseer directly from the remote and the only option (I found) was to use the HA-Bridge software and emulating Philips Hue lamps. The other features can be handled from a generic keyboard (F1-F4, c, p), but it's ridiculous that the keyboard profile in the Harmony app does not have a. I'm looking for a device with the basic Android keys (Home, Menu, Back) media keys (Play, Pause, Stop, Rew, FF, Prev, Next, Rec) and numeric keys (0-9, and. I've even tried using Harmony's Flirc profile to key some media keys, but that one is incomplete, too. It seems most bluetooth devices I try to add are missing certain keys couple that with the app's tedious process to assign keys, and I'm about to ditch the project. I know I can place several different devices in the same activity (like a keyboard, Fire TV, and Nvidia Shield) to get the buttons needed, but I keep having to recreate the activity and add new devices because the previous devices were missing keys.ĭo any users here have a fully working setup with a hub-based Harmony remote with Channels on Android TV. (Why you can't simply have an Android TV keyboard device that encompasses everything is beyond me, but Logi has never been one for good software.) Their product database is a hodge–podge, especially when it comes to Android TV devices. However, Logitech's iOS Harmony app is frustratingly abysmal. I've decided to break out my old Hub-based Logitech Harmony to simplify the remotes with the family room TV.
